Discipline Principal and Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist
Born in England and having a solid Sri Lankan family heritage, I have set high professional expectations of service delivery. I have long enjoyed a presence in the athletics arena, both as a former state triple jump record holder and a treating physiotherapist.
Being the first born in a family of three boys and a sports’ (soccer and cricket specifically) fanatic father, it was only natural for me to choose a career in Sports and Exercise physiotherapy. My passion for track and field has given me opportunities to work with the Australian Athletics team for the past 12 years and am currently part of Australia’s handpicked physiotherapy team supporting our nation’s most driven and effective athletes on a quest to reach the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
After retiring as an athlete, I undertook the role of physiotherapist for the Queensland Academy of Sport track and field division. My track-side experience has provided me with an inside knowledge of sports injury management and biomechanics. My work at Queensland Academy of Sport has given me exposure to the national standard of sports and exercise physiotherapy practice. This now sets the benchmark for physiotherapy excellence for all our physiotherapists at North Lakes Sports and Rehab.
